We built VYB privacy-first. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
This Privacy Policy describes how VYB (“VYB,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile app and website (the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, date of birth, email or phone, and the photos you add to your profile.
- Verification data — a live selfie used to confirm you're a real person and match you to your profile. Verification images are processed for authenticity and are not shown publicly.
- Location — when you check in, we use your device location to place you in a venue and show nearby people. You control location access in your device settings.
- Usage & device data — app interactions, device type, and diagnostic information used to keep the Services secure and reliable.
How we use information
- To operate core features — check-ins, discovery, matching, and messaging.
- To verify identity and keep the community safe from fake or abusive accounts.
- To personalize recommendations and improve the product.
- To communicate with you about your account, safety, and updates you've opted into.
Your controls
- Incognito — browse fully hidden and appear only to people you choose.
- Location — turn location on or off at any time; without it, check-in features are unavailable.
- Access & deletion — request a copy of your data or delete your account from in-app settings or by emailing us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the Services (for example, hosting and verification), under contracts that require them to protect it, or where required by law.
Security & retention
We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information and retain it only as long as needed to provide the Services or meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove or de-identify your data except where retention is legally required.
